I suppose I'll play along with this iTunes meme where you hit shuffle and post the first lines of the songs that come up and see if anyone guesses what the songs are and who did them. Unlike somebody who posted all jibberish to thump his readers, I'll post full first lines, which I think will still thump people because it's an odd mix (and also I don't have that many readers):

I can't even make an intelligent guess at any of these.
I'm pretty certain, though, that none of these songs are Christian Pop. Do I win any points?
Some I think should be pretty obvious, but yes, yes, yes, others are pretty out there in space, rich in hue, electric, metal, soulful, groovy and pumped, but don't go howlin' at the moon or jump in a lake because you can't get them. ;)
OK, I'll neither howl at the moon nor jump in a lake. But may I howl at a lake if the mood strikes me? If not, what the fuck can I howl at?
I do not recognize a single one of those.
I am stumped. Not a single one of these tickled a single synapse within my pointy little head. Give my some Dylan, Seeger or Guthrie (either one).
Soulful? Groovy? Pumped? Sounds rather artistic to me.
Uh....
You ARE kidding right?
Well, except for this one:
"My shadow's shedding skin and I've been picking scabs again"
One of my all-time favorites.
Kiss my ass, Philly. You're fucking with us!
Man, some are older than me so you old heads have no excuses.
Head to your radios and you may hear some of these songs by clergy, godfathers, dukes and kings among men. Maybe if you sleep on it tonight snuggled in your jammies after a good steak (great source of iron) and a bottle of cabernet, dreaming of traveling down highways (wear your seatbelts) or moving through gardens full of these misfit sounds like spirits swinging through trees or little noises twisting in the air. Or maybe they'll come to you after smoking a fat joint and not paying your taxes.
Don't give me a bunch of clues. It's 6:15 AM here.
Hmmm... I think I know a couple of these.
Since Evo didn't say what #11 was I'll take a stab at it too.
#1 2+2=5 = Radiohead
#9 Heaven & Hell - Black Sabbath
#10 Me Jane - PJ Harvey
#11 Fourty-six & 2 - Tool
#17 Twist of Cain - Danzig
And just like that, OG snags 20% of the titles and artists.
You actually have to say what the answer is Evo, so OG snaked you on Tool.
Ok, further BIG clues:
How was Rome founded?
What was the argument between Edison and Westinghouse over?
Delirium tremens?
What was the argument between Edison and Westinghouse over?
There's actually a group called Stop Fucking My Wife?
It's like listening to my kids talk about their music. I recognize the individual words, but the order in which they place them makes no sense at all.
Though I do remember Black Sabbath. Saddly, I remember Black Sabbath.
I bounced these off of a close friend who lives and breaths railroad history and music. He's stumped (as am I).
I know some.
05. AC/DC- Whole Lotta Rosie
14. Mars Volta- L'Via L'Viaquez
16. Deep Purple- Highway Star
19. AC/DC- Kicked in the Teeth
But that's all that comes to me right now.
I'm not sure what railroad history would do to help you get these tunes. Maybe try a music history buff, one into late 20th century music.
I'm SOOO happy to see someone get the AC/DC ones. Quite a special thing to meet someone who knows a song off of Powerage. Nice work, Infinity.
So can you see some of the clues now?
Rich in hue + traveling down highways - Deep Purple, Highway Star
Edison/Westinghouse - AC/DC
Out there in space - Mars Volta
Jammies + Swinging through Trees - PJ Harvey, Me Jane
Head to your radio - Radiohead
Misfit - Danzig
So for the rest of you, you're chasing after these like that sheriff who chased those boys in Hazard. Like in the movie, you have to relax like their uncle and buddy up to these.
I'm late, but it really doesn't matter, because you and I, Philly, must have traveled in polar opposite musical circles. I don't know the ones that are still open, and would not have gotten the ones that have already been disclosed.
I think Evo was being sarcastic. He didn't know #11.
I wonder...hmmmm...if I did this meme, would you know the stuff on my iPod?
Stay tuned.
21 = WN??
